Hello and welcome to EnKay Naturals!

I am Dr. Nkeiru, Pediatrician and Pediatric Endocrinologist, and founder/CEO of EnKay Naturals!

Developing my brand has truly been a labor of love for me. I started formulating products in 2015, while I was still in medical school. Like many people, when I started my journey back to natural hair, finding natural yet effective products for 4c hair was always a struggle for me. After many failed product trials, I was desperate to find quality products that didn’t leave my hair feeling dry. I used to layer 4-5 products at a time just to retain moisture (yikes!). I tried the LCO method and the LOC method, but nothing was working to help me retain moisture. 

I quickly realized that not only is technique important, but having high quality products goes a long way. Shea butter never seemed to work for me the way I saw it work wonders for others. It left my hair feeling hard with a waxy coating. That is until I discovered Nilotica Shea Butter! It is a different species of Shea butter grown primarily in Eastern Africa. It has lower melting point and a higher Olein content that gives it a velvety rich texture with no waxy feeling. 

With my medical background combined with being an avid DIYer, I went to work in the lab and thus EnKay Naturals was born! I paid special attention to my choice of ingredients, using only natural and naturally derived ingredients, along with paraben free preservatives. My products do not include any silicones, mineral oil, phthalates, petrolatum, artificial fragrances, or parabens. As an Endocrinologist, it was very important for me to formulate products without any endocrine disrupting chemicals.

I want to share my products with other type 4 naturalistas to take the guesswork out of natural hair care. EnKay Naturals provides quality and effective products with ingredients straight from Africa!
